- Sultan HB II (Sultan Sepuh) who was previously exiled Raffles to Penang returned to Yogyakarta to bring peace so that the nobles who sided with Diponegoro want to return to the palace. But the plot failed because Sultan Sepuh has no authority anymore and not long after that he died.
- General de Kock persuaded the Diponegoro followers especially those who had previous powers. They are promised to get the money and position they want. The strategy was finally successful, one by one they returned to the capital and left Diponegoro.
- The next tactic is to build fortresses in the captured areas, the goal is to make the space of the Diponegoro troop less and less.
- Once pressed, the Dutch approach to Diponegoro want to be invited to peace. But there was a failure.
De Kock increasingly overwhelmed because Diponegoro increasingly more troops from the citizens of Magelang, on the other hand his government demanded him to be able to immediately stop the attacks conducted by Diponegoro.
Through a negotiation, Prince Diponegoro was finally arrested and then exiled to Makassar until he died on 8 January 1855.
